The
26th edition of the CARQUEST Street Machine Nationals, presented
by Flowmaster wrapped up with Raul Jirik, Lemont, IL earning
the Street Machine Grand Champion award. Jirik's '57 Chevy was
photographed as a feature car by Scott Parkhurst, Technical
Editor of Popular Hot Rodding Magazine. The Street Machine Nats
judges also doled out top awards to: Carl Anderson's 1994
Chevy in the Two Wheel Drive Truck category; Peter
Vaughn's 1970 AMC copped the Grand Champion Restored Award;
and Drake Devore's '65 Plymouth earned the Grand Champion.
Pro Vehicle pick! Marko Radielovic, Associate Editor of Car
Craft magazine was also on hand during the weekend and he
was "very impressed with the quality of
street machines." Marko's event story will grace the pages
of Car Craft later this fall. Car Craft Magazine's next stop will be
at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, July 19-21, as
Chevrolet presents the CAR CRAFT SUMMER NATIONALS, co-sponsored
by Flowmaster.
